The day is Finally here! Ooblets has officially released on Xbox and PC via the Epic Store!
It has been years since I first heard of this adorable and adventurous indie game! The developers have worked so hard to make this game as cute and fun as they possibly can. And now it is finally the time for everyone to get to try it for themselves, as Ooblets released today, July 15th, on Xbox One and PC (via the Epic Games Store).
For those that have been living under a rock, Ooblets is farming sim/creature collection game with a ton of charm. The creatures that you “collect” (actually you have to grow them yourself) are called Ooblets, and they love to dance. They are the most adorable little squishy creatures that jump at the opportunity to do your bidding.
Features
- Grow crops on your farm and sell them in town
- Build your team of ooblets, level them up, and unlock new dance moves
- Style your character in a bunch of different outfits and accessories
- Join an ooblet club to get your first little baby ooblet
- Compete in dance-offs to earn new ooblet seeds and win tournaments
- Expand and decorate your house from a dinky shack to a stately farmhouse
- Get to know the townsfolk and befriend them if you’d like!

You can also purchase the game for yourself or another on the official Xbox website, if that is your console of choice. There you will also find a free trial of the game.

The developers of Ooblets officially announced that their game will hit early access on July,15th.
So, I have been keeping a close eye on Ooblets for what seems like a million years now. Finally, the big day has come for everyone to finally get to try out this absolutely adorable farming sim and creature collection indie game for themselves. Ooblets is all about growing a healthy farm, as well as a healthy group of friends to aid with a helping hand along the way.
With the recent reveal of the new trailer, we knew this day was just around the corner. The game will be releasing in the Epic Game Store on July 15th, 2020, as well as on Xbox. You can also wishlist the game on Steam, where the release date is still set as TBD. To stay notified as to when the game releases exactly, you can also sign up for the Ooblets newsletter.

During todays Wholesome Direct a brand new trailer for Ooblets has been released and early access has finally been confirmed!
For everyone who is living under a rock and has not heard about Ooblets yet. Ooblets is a work in progress indie game, inspired by gems such as Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon and Pokemon. I have been following the development of the game from day one and even had the opportunity to sit down with Rebecca for an interview!
The game has been in development for some time and plenty of adorable gameplay footage and game development updates have been revealed over the time. Rebecca is one of the two developer behind the game and she has been teasing an Early Access release earlier this year. However, she did not have much more to share at that time.

One of my favorite adorable indie games, Ooblets, is making leaps and bounds.
The recently updated dev log for Ooblets let us in on some in-depth details in regards to the progress of this eagerly awaited title! The dynamic duo of a dev team has been hard at work to make sure the game is as streamlined as possible before the still unknown release date. This endlessly charming game has already gained quite the following, mostly for itâs uber-cute art style and ingenious minion system (the Ooblets).
Here’s what the developers have been working on.
One of the biggest quality of life improvements recently implemented has to do with the farming aspect of the game. Now, whenever you want to see the status of your crops, some text will pop up and show you what stage they are in and if they need water, or what have you. This will make it easier than just having to rely on visual queues.
There have also been some goings on to help the dancing run more smoothly. This way, when your adorable little Ooblets are in the midst of a heated dance battle, everything will groove as it should. There have also been improvements to the UI during battle, helping to make for an overall fluid experience.
There have also been some changes made in the way that you interact with your environment, via just tapping to shake or holding really give a tree the wiggle it needs to drop fruit. There is a new Ooblet that was finally introduced to non-patrons. This tiny and wiggly arthropoda is named Isopud.

The developers of the popular indie title, Ooblets, have become a part of the Epic Games Store.
We at myPotatoGames absolutely cannot wait for Ooblets! We have been keeping an eye on this adorable upcoming title for some time now. The cutesy little creatures instantly captured our attention and hearts. Watching them dance and groove has been an excellent past-time while waiting for the game to be developed. Each update giving us just a little more hope that the game is coming sooner than later.
The latest update from developers is that they are signing up to be a part of the Epic Games Store, joining ranks with the likes of Oxygen Not Included. Aside from temporary exclusivity to PC, the game will get a boost in funding to help get it into our hands that much faster! Now with the devs having more ability to focus on development, Ooblets will have the chance to truly meet its maximum potential.

These have been some of our most anticipated games as of late and we’ve noticed that our Potato Family is also eager for the release of these games! We’ve put together some links for you below to wishlist along with the most recent updates to tie us all over until we get the chance to play! If you’ve only just heard of these incredibly adorable games now, or if you’ve missed our other articles on them, we’ve also added those links for you!
Snacko
Snacko, the game where you play as a cat, is an adorable farming simulation with unique puzzles. Below is the announcement from June that we are most excited about but if you want to read their entire devlog you can do so here. Snacko still has a tentative release date of 2021 for PC and the Nintendo Switch. If you missed our last month’s updates on this game, you can read our article here.
An entirely new building system is in the works which includes their new camera rotation! Now you can see all your wonderful decors from all angles and rotate your items to place however you want! Take a look at the video below to see how it will work. We’ve also listed everything else for that pertains to your furniture and decor items.
New Features:
- world-aligned grid snapping â this means no matter where you are on the map, you can always make a perfectly straight line, even if the building area is offset from the others.
- rotate freely â rotate on 45 degree angle increments by holding CTRL and sliding your mouseâŠjust like in the Sims! Part of Octoberâs update will also be adding additional support for controllers, although it wonât be fully polished
- free build mode â my personal favourite: you can go off the grid and rotate at any degree you want! Although the default is set to snapping since we feel like most players would prefer that, you can toggle on free build mode to place things wherever youâd like
- placing multiple things on surfaces â as long as thereâs enough room, you can stuff as many things on top of a surface, such as a table or counter, as youâd like. No more messy snapping algorithms that limit how you can decorate your kitchen counters when you can just use free build mode!
- dyes â certain objects, indoors or outdoors, can be dyed with items and their patterns changed. Dyes can be crafted or purchased, and items with different patterns can be purchased from certain NPCs. For example, you can keep the style of your bed frame but swap out the blanket pattern by purchasing a new blanketâŠyou can dye it afterwards, too!
Alchemy Story
Alchemy Story is a magical farming simulation game where you’ll have to turn the poor townsfolk from animals to humans again! We’ve played an early version of the game on itch.io which you can purchase here, or you can read about here in our review. You can also wishlist the game on Steam here so you’re notified of the Early Access release which is expected this August 2019. If you purchased it earlier on itch.io, you’ll get the Steam code for free when it releases.
Last month’s update Penelope Fineyarn and mines where added, now we get to take a look at newly added Madeline Fineyarn in this new devlog! Once you help her out, this cute tailor will open her boutique in Rosehill and youâll be able to shop for new outfits! Another new area added is the Market. You can now unlock eight market stalls in the town center and place your ingredients for sale. You can add fish to the list of things to sell (five different kinds) as you can now go fishing anywhere with a body of water. Finally, a map and a “guide me” feature has been added so you can follow along to where you’d like to go!
Ooblets
What can we say about this wonderfully unique simulation and adventure game? Ooblets is about growing and training these adorable creatures on you farm to then follow you in exploring strange lands and doing dance-battles with other trainers and wild Ooblets. There is still no release date as of yet but you can wishlist it on Steam here and expect the game to also release on Xbox One simultaneously. Now there’s a rare weather event to catch Gleamies, the rarest variation of each Ooblet type. This sparkly rain brings out a higher chance of running into local Gleamies for you to challenge and looks beautiful too. Below you’ll also see the newly added Ooblet, Spuddle!
Button City
This game about a fox and his friends trying to save their local arcade is still in early development so we do not have a release date or confirmed platforms but what we do know is that it’s darn cute. A couple of months ago we introduced to you the characters along with their gaming rivalry here but now we have a little more information from their new Patreon page here about how to travel around this beautiful pastel-colored world. They also recently announced that they are hiring 3D artists if you happen to be one and are reading this now.
Use the Zoomie to get to other places in the world super quick. When you play the game youâll be able to press a button or use a finger gesture to zoom out of the level, enter the level selection stack, and pop into a new place. What you see below are the actual floating islands to which you’ll be navigating so this new form of fast-travel, the Zoomie, is a way to interact with this type of design choice.
We have a sneak peak of the concept art for a new character, Peppermint Pepperbottom, who’s the one behind the wicked scheme to shut down the arcade. You also get to see some lovely art of the downtown street that’s going to have tons of little shops. As of now there’s a market, pizzeria, book store, and a music shop!

The April dev. log for Ooblets reveals new features and improvements!
The recently updated dev log for Ooblets let us in on some in-depth details in regards to the progress of this eagerly awaited title! The dynamic duo of a dev team has been hard at work to make sure the game is as streamlined as possible before the still unknown release date. This adorable title has already gained quite the following, mostly for it’s uber-cute art style and ingenious minion system (the Ooblets).
In case you haven’t heard, Ooblets is an extremely adorable farming SIM/creature collection game in the style of such classics as Animal Crossing and Pokemon. Only in this game, you don’t need to necessarily catch your creatures, instead, you grow them in your awesome garden! Your little friends will help you do many things as you explore the expansive lands before you.
The juicy deets….
The updated dev log for last month mentions a few choice improvements! First and foremost, as usual, bug fixes! All those nasty little critters are being sought out and corrected as we speak! There has also been the addition of a heads-up display (HUD) to make for easier access to your quests and tasks.
Also, a new special homebaby grow system makes it so that the Ooblets you leave on your farm will help them grow faster, depending on the attributes of the individual Oobs. This adorable feature is implemented through dance. Watch your Ooblets groove for the betterment of your ecosystem!
In this update, you can now keep much better track of your cutesy creatures with the addition of an almanac. This will simplify the process of knowing which ones you have, and which ones you still need to grow! Ooblets still has no current estimate on release date (confirmed to be coming to Steam and Xbox One) but there’s still plenty of news to be had as the developers (Glumberland) continue to work hard and share with us their progress. In their March 2019 Devlog, the developers talk about their new region called Mamoonia, a friendship menu redesign, new merchandise, and new technical updates. Then there’s the new animations and loading screens for Legsy that we’ll talk about!
In case you didn’t know, this upcoming simulation and adventure game offers plenty of character, house, and farm customization. The best part, you get to grow adorable creatures in your gardens with Ooblet Seeds! Have your Ooblets join you on your journey in a dance-off type of battling system against wild Ooblets and other fellow trainers. You can get caught up on the latest news and interviews with us here.
