Nintendo Starts Offering Free Games To Nintendo Online Subscribers

Nintendo announced that Nintendo Online Subscribers will be getting free access to selected games each month as part of their subscription.

Much like Sony and Microsoft who offer free games to their subscribers each and every month, Nintendo will now follow their footsteps and start offering free game trials.

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players are already used to this format as PlayStation Plus and Game Pass offer free games each month that you can enjoy and play as long as you have a valid subscription.

Nintendo is taking a slightly different path as the big N will only be offering free trials of selected games. The first game you can try out is Mario Tennis. The free trial will last from August 7th – August 13th. If you have a Nintendo Online Subscription, you will be able to download and play the game for free during that time.

The biggest perk is that if you end up enjoying the game, you can grab it for a 30% discount at the end of the trial up until August 20th.

Interesting. May try it out. It’s better than a normal demo to let me know if I want a game. And at worst its a one week rental.

That’s a decent perk. If it’s only one game per month that you can try, it’s a little low for me since I typically don’t get into all that many games, but maybe one of these days they’ll put a game I’ve been particuarly wanting to try up.

I don’t have an online subscription yet since none of their benefits have mattered to me so far, and I’m very much a single-player type (I even solo in MMPORGs, so…fairly dedicated to single player mode, lol.)

Animal Crossing and Story of Seasons have been the only games I’ve used multiplayer for, to trade fruit and seeds and animal products and stuff, and sometimes to catalogue a great bit of furniture or clothing that just would NOT come into stock in my New Leaf town, lol.

If the Nintendo Online Subscription ever makes itself look useful to me, I’ll commit to a year right away. Definitely going to be doing that by the time AC: New Horizons comes out anyway! I’m sure we’re still going to have need to swap town fruits and so on 🙂

And that should be MMORPG. 🙂

No Massively Multiplayer, Private-Only Really, Games?

I have the Switch Online family plan since it was pretty cheap and I can share it. I play some of the NES classics occasionally for my throwback games. Used SMB3 to help my 6yr old learn non-touch controls in games.

Ha ha, nooo…I don’t think I’ve yet played a MMPORG, lol…just MMORPGs 🙂 Yeah, the subscription is definitely not too pricey. I’ll get it as soon as I have a use for it, for sure 🙂 Right now I don’t since I’m not into any of the classics.
