Nintendo May be Working on a New Animal Crossing Website

Fans of the Animal Crossing series are eagerly waiting for a new game in the franchise. Nintendo has been extremely quiet about the games future. The big N did release the spin off game, Pocket Camp, but any real fan of the village simulator will agree that the mobile version does not scratch the itch for a new full Animal Crossing Game. Reggie, president of North America assured, that all of Nintendo big IPs including Animal Crossing would make it to the Switch. Animal Crossing Switch has since then become one of the most anticipated games of the console.

Today we learned that Nintendo has made a couple of changes to the official Animal Crossing website. Though nothing significant has happened as of now, we did notice that an updated news and video area has been added. Nintendo has since then removed the links from the front page, but the website can still be accessed here. Both pages come with placeholder images from Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, though we believe based on the website code – that these may have just been chosen at random because the changes happened on the actual Animal Crossing website, not the Amiibo festival website. ( So rest assured this is not an indication of Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival 2. 😉 )

Animal Crossing

Of course all of this should be consumed with a grain of salt, or a big spoon of salt. We know this may not mean anything at all, but it’s always good to see some movement around the much loved Animal Crossing games. Nintendo often teases fans with website changes for upcoming Nintendo Directs, we would like to put a tiny bit of hope in this, and maybe an Animal Crossing Game might be announced at this years E3, after all Nintendo reserved a massive space at this years Gaming Convention in Los Angeles.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and should anything new happen, we will be sure to cover it. For now we can only speculate about the next Animal Crossing game, but there are some chances an Animal Crossing Switch E3 announcement this year might happen. To tie us over, we also started decorating our personal space with these must have Animal Crossing goodies, here and here.

Check out the video below for some more speculating on what these changes could mean.

Update: Nintendo has now redirected the above linked websites to the main Animal Crossing website.

myPotatoGames was founded out of our huge love for Animal Crossing, besides spending a lot of time taking care of my virtual village I enjoy painting, creating things or looking up funny and cute dog pictures on the internet. My preferred office location is somewhere on a remote island, in the middle of the South Pacific.
