Nintendo announced that a major content update will be heading to New Horizons but it will be a bitter sweet experience.

The last Animal Crossing New Horizons Direct revealed plenty of new features coming to the beloved village simulator. While there are many new things to explore, Nintendo also adds a lot of features some New Leaf players may feel familiar with.

Undoubtedly the paid DLC as well as the free update will make the game feel more complete. When the big N announced the new content it was also revealed that this would be the last major content update coming to New Horizons.

This means that once the update drops on November 5th, the game will essentially be completed and no more future updates are expected as revealed towards the end of the Direct.

It is to assume that Nintendo will continue to release some minor updates such as seasonal items and perhaps some changes to seasonal events in the future. But in regards to “major content” updates this will be it.

It is not surprising since the previous installment in the Animal Crossing series only ever received one content update years after its original release – Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo.

If you missed the Animal Crossing New Horizons Direct you can get caught up on it right here. The free update as well as the paid DLC Happy Home Paradise will be available November 5th.

There has not been a significant content update for Animal Crossing New Horizons since its launch back in March 2020 besides the usual seasonal events. Nintendo is changing this now as they announced the first big free content update coming our way later this year.

During yesterdays Nintendo Direct it was announced that Brewster will be making a return to New Horizons. Not much information has been shared but it appears that he may be getting a section for himself in the museum unlike a whole new building like he did in New Leaf.

Animal Crossing Direct hinting at more content

In addition Nintendo also revealed that more information about the update will be shared in October when a dedicated Animal Crossing New Horizons Direct will take place. This means the big N has more to share than just Brewster. The announcement banner also states “Brewster and more” coming to New Horizons.

There have been a lot of rumors through datamining. For anyone who doesn’t know or is not familiar with datamining, data miners look through each and every piece of code and update released for New Horizons and they have found hints at more vegetable farming, cooking, inviting villagers to your home, ceiling furniture and more. It will be interesting to see if some of these rumored features are part of the content update.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Content Update release date

Nintendo did not specify an exact date but it is clear that the update will be released in time for the holidays to make New Horizons relevant for the this years Santa list. The update is scheduled to go live for free sometime in November this year.

Nintendo slipped in some new items in the last update that re-introduced the August Fireworks and some other new seasonal items.

The Moon-Viewing Day is a popular holiday in Japan that honors the autumn moon. Many festivals take place across the country where people come together to view the moon.

People in the western world can take part in this tradition through Animal Crossing New Horizons. Nook Shopping will be offering some new items in time for Moon-Viewing Day. You can grab up the Moon Pie, Dango, Songpyeon and even last years Moon Rug.

Admiring the moon is a long-held tradition, but our celestial neighbor is especially beautiful as it hangs in the sky at this time of year. Please consider [these commemorative dango] [this commemorative moon rug] an event souvenir.

Celebrated in parts of Asia, the 15th night on the 8th month–according to the lunisolar calendar–has a harvest moon. This is when the full moon is perfectly situated for observation. How about some moon cakes?

Nintendo just announced another restock of the popular Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards.

If you have been playing Animal Crossing New Horizons you might be on the hunt to invite your favorite villagers to your island. One way to do so is by using Amiibo cards. Nintendo recently announced the comeback of all series following another restock earlier this year.

If you are curious to know how the Animal Crossing Amiibos will work in New Horizons and everything you can do with them in the game, check out my guide right here

Amiibos have been around for many years and with time passing I have built up quite a large collection of Animal Crossing Amiibos ( cards and figures ) but I never quite finished all four series.

One of the major reason I never got to complete all four collections was based on the spotty availability of the cards. People have been trading a single Stitches Amiibo card for up to $100, which just shows how rare and difficult some cards are to come by.

Animal Crossing Amiibo Restock Release Date

According to Nintendo, Target will be carrying the Animal Crossing Amiibo cards once again early September. Each pack will be sold for the same price of $5.99 and includes 6 cards.

Nintendo also announced a major new content update with new features will be heading to Animal Crossing New Horizons later this year.
