The biggest difference between the two versions was the inclusion of additional fighters such as Decidueye, Darkrai, Croagunk, Empolean, and Scizor.

In the latest trailer for Pokken Tournament DX, we get a good look at the grass/ghost type Decidueye that hails from Pokemon Sun & Moon.

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]iantic CEO, John Hanke, is on the record via a blog post that a majority of the technical issues were from too much traffic on mobile networks. This is inevitable when many people are using a ton of data in a small congested space.

An official explanation from Hanke in regards to the mobile networks:

“A more protracted problem was caused by oversaturation of the mobile data networks of some network providers. This caused many attendees to be unable to access Pokémon GO or other Internet services. Network congestion also led to a login issue which affected some users able to access the Internet.”

Niantic spent most of the day trying to address this issue  along with the Pokemon Go Client crashing by re-configuring their servers . It took most of the day to work out. To compensate for this, Niantic gave out full refunds and $100 in Pokecoins.

Naturally, the internet connectivity issue was the most pressing and the most difficult for Niantic to deal with.  Niantic had partnered with Sprint along with other providers to help out with extra coverage so Niantic felt that their needs would be covered. However, it seems that none of the organizers anticipated just how much data would be used in such a short time frame.

“We provided detailed estimates on attendance and required data throughput per user to our event partner who worked with the major carriers to allow them to plan for adequate coverage,” wrote Hanke. “Some carriers deployed Cellular on Wheels (COWs) to extend their capacity. In other cases the providers deemed them unnecessary based on other infrastructure already in place at the site.”

Sprint’s network coverage held up well according to Niantic. Verizon on the other hand stated that they were not to blame for the issues experienced on their network which was recently stated in an interview with Business Insider. Verizon alleged that other applications such as YouTube worked fine on their network at the time so it was alleged Niantic’s Servers were to blame (there is definitely truth in that).

While Hanke didn’t shy away from the statement from Verizon, he was quick to emphasize the rest of the weekend’s successes. Attendees ended up catching more than 7.7 million Pokémon, he wrote, with 440,000 of them being the new legendary types.

Here is to hoping that the next Pokemon Go Fest ends up being more of a success with less refunds.

[dropcap]H[/dropcap]umble Bundle is publishing a super adorable cat game called Mineko’s Night Market.  The studio developing the game is called Meowza Games.  The game is due to release in 2018.

Mineko’s Night Market is the first title from the young, two-person indie studio. The adventure title stars Mineko, a girl who takes on a job as a vendor in a weekly marketplace.  The game includes taking on  responsibilities ranging from collecting resources, crafting items to sell, participating in local events and befriending customers around town. The game seems similar to Stardew Valley in this respect.

One of the most interesting features of the game is that the setting comes from a real word place that is known to be beloved by cat lovers.  Tashirojima is a Japanese island that’s home to more cats than human beings — much like the world of Mineko’s Night Market, which takes place on a cat-worshipping Japanese isle called Mount Fugu. The biggest difference between the two places is that in Mineko’s world, there are still plenty of humans to hang out with but you still get to play with tons of kittens.

The game is heading to Mac and Windows PC sometime next year, and it won’t be exclusive to the Humble Bundle Store.

Read our exclusive interview with the developer behind Mineko’s Night Market right here. Check out the cute trailer that was released below:

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]here are many neat accessories that one can buy for the Switch. However, by far the neatest accessory I have seen is the Joy-Con keyboard attachment.

This keyboard ,from the minds at Cyber Gadget, (unlike a lot of keyboard attachments for console) is a fully fledged keyboard with the same size you would have on PC. The design at first may seem a bit off putting. However the more you look at it, the more the Joy-Cons seem to be at home on the sides. The Joy-Cons snap onto the sides of the keyboard for easy access and even easier holding.

There was once a device similar for Gamecube in the past but this device seems much more ergonomic then it’s ancestor.

There was another keyboard designed for the Nintendo Switch by Hori (see below)

The officially licensed product from Hori was really just a keyboard that connected to the Switch via USB, and it didn’t incorporate the Joy-Con remotes into the design at all. It doesn’t really make sense to not incorporate the Joy-Cons yet here we are.

The Cyber Gadget keyboard will connect to the Nintendo Switch via USB and it will not charge the Joy-Cons while they are plugged into the keyboard which is unfortunate.

All in all, it seems like a neat gadget and with the Online App launching in the near future, the keyboard could see extensive use.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]RMS is getting statistic tracking in the new ARMS update in version 2.0. This was confirmed by the official Japanese Twitter account. ARMS is joining the likes of Mario Kart Deluxe which came with statistic tracking from the jump.

While we all know that Max Brass will be joining the ARMS roster on July 12th with this update, this new update should be great for players who want a more inclusive picture of their usage statistics. The tweet only shows a short clip, but it appears we will be able to see our most frequently used ARMS, our accuracy for each arm, the win percentage for the last 100 games, and much more down the line.

Here is the official Tweet below:

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n a lot of games, there is a game over screen when you run out of lives. In Super Mario, you would collect green 1-up mushrooms to stack up lives before facing a boss or a difficult area. However, in Super Mario Odyssey, you do not have a game over screen.

Instead of having a life system, you will have coins instead. In replacement of losing a life, you will lose ten coins. Even if you do not have ten coins to lose, you will not be penalized.

Yoshiaki Koizumi, Super Mario Odyssey’s producer, told Polygon at E3 of the decision to do away with lives and 1-Ups by stating:

We also wanted people to be able to, you know, you get into a kingdom and you can just kind of continually keep going through that kingdom without being pulled out, so that was why we kind of wanted to get rid of the lives idea

The idea of continuous exploration without being interrupted by a Game Over screen seems to be a neat idea. We will see in October if this radical change pays off.

Players get to play against Max Brass in the Grand Prix mode of ARMS. Max Brass is  the final challenger that you play against. He’s flashy and reminiscent of Johnny Cage of the Mortal Kombat Series.
