Creator David Wehle has dropped the ball on his latest work today. The First Tree Switch has finally been announced and will come to Nintendo Hybrids console. The game which focuses heavily on exploration, is planned for a release later this year. The player will jump into the role of a fox, while two concurrent stories unfold. The first story is about a fox who is eagerly trying to find her missing family, while the other involves a son trying to reconnect with this father, far away in Alaska.

The game is said to appeal to players who enjoyed games like the Journey, or Firewatch. Story heavy, exploration games, have been extremely popular in the last few years. You can check out some more information and the trailer of Te First Tree Switch below. If you can’t wait for the Switch version, The First Tree is currently also available on Steam for PC and Mac.

About The First Tree

From the creator of Home is Where One Starts… comes The First Tree, a third-person exploration game centered around two parallel stories: a fox trying to find her missing family, and a son reconnecting with his father in Alaska. Players take control of the fox on a poignant and beautiful journey that crescendos at the source of life, and perhaps result in an understanding of death. Along the way, players can uncover artifacts and stories from the son’s life as he becomes intertwined in the fox’s journey towards The First Tree.
