I had this pre-ordered months ago, but in spite of hearing only rave reviews about it so far (from those who got press copies and etc), I cancelled my pre-order because I’m still not sure about it. At first I was really into the idea of ‘kingdom building’, but apparently there’s none of that sort of customization or sim-like property to the game at all, at least not of the sort that I’m attracted to.

So for now, I’m going to sit and watch this one, to see if the general populace has enough to say about it that I’ll be able to figure out if it’ll be a game I’ll play all the way through, or if it’d just end up raising the height of my mountainous backlog. I love Ghibli style and this looks beautiful and full of interesting characters, but I didn’t enjoy the first Ni No Kuni (I ended up giving it away because I just couldn’t get into the story or become interested in the protagonist) and though this one sounds great…I can’t get a feel for what it’ll really be like to play it. But I’m watching with interest until I can figure it out. 🙂 I really want this one, I just feel cautious since I thought I really wanted the first one, too, and then didn’t like it.

Is anyone on Potato Games going to be playing this one and giving it a review?
